Open Student Television Network

TV2 carries programming from OSTN, the only 24/7 global television network devoted to student-produced programming. OSTN's mission is to provide opportunities for students through resources, community, exposure, and experience.

CampusEAI Consortium member colleges and universities in the United States, like TV2, expressed a need to share high-quality video programming being developed by students in student television, broadcast journalism, and film deparments in order to provide greater and to fill gaps in their local student television station schedule. In 2004, the CampusEAI Consortium provided funding and helped establish the Open Student Television Network (OSTN).

Over 100 student television stations, broadcast journalism, and film departments contributed high-quality video programming to OSTN. In Feburary of 2005, OSTN was launched as a television channel on Internet2, the national advanced research and education network in the United States. Based on the volume of programming and the interest expressed in OSTN from around the world, OSTN expanded its channel portfolio and distribution.
