Flashes hire old face for new team

Former assistant coach Rob Senderoff has rejoined the Kent State men's basketball team to become associate head coach.
"We are really lucky to get someone with Rob's quality and experience on our staff," Kent State coach Geno Ford said in a statement through the athletic department. "He is a proven national recruiter and an excellent on-the-floor coach that brought five guys on our current roster to Kent State."
Senderoff, who first coached with the Flashes from 2002-2006, coached at Indiana for one season and resigned in October after being accused of breaking NCAA rules by making illegal phone calls to recruits and making illegal calls to boosters.
Senderoff previously worked with Ford when they were assistants together on former coach Jim Christian's staff.
Senderoff's strength as a coach includes his work with post players. He played a big role in the development of 2004 MAC Defensive Player of the Year John Edwards. While at Indiana, Senderoff worked with All-Big Ten forward D.J. White.
He is the second new coach to join the staff. Former player Armon Gates joined Ford's staff last Tuesday as an assistant coach.
