A graphic designer who draws and illustrates politics relating to financial, governmental and medical issues with a sense of humor will be coming to Kent State.

Mirko Ili?, a graphic designer originally from Bosnia, will be speaking and showing a Flash presentation of his work at 6 p.m. in the Kiva. The presentation is sponsored by Kent State's chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, a professional association for design professionals.

Ili? was an art director of Time International and the op-eds in the New York Times. He established Mirko Ilic Corporation, a graphic design, 3-D computer graphics and motion picture title studio.

Rebecca Ehalt, senior visual communication design major and the one in charge of programming for AIGA, said Ili? uses limited words with strong imagery, but he designs for change.

Ehalt said visual communication design, political science, interior design and art majors will all benefit from Ili?'s artwork and speech.

Ili? has co-authored several books, two being "The Anatomy of Design" and "Design of Dissent."

The event will last from 6 to 8 p.m., and at 7:30, Ili? will sign books. Students can purchase "The Anatomy of Design" for $45 and "Design of Dissent" for $30 at the bookstore.

To learn more about Ili?, visit his Web site at www.mirkoilic.com.
