The Kent African Student Association will hold its annual "African Nights" celebration from 6:30 to 11 p.m. tonight in the Student Center Ballroom. The celebration will display African culture through art, music, fashion and food.

"We do it to show people a side of Africans they do not usually get to see," KASA programmer Sheila Denanyoh said.

The event will be semi-casual with free food and entertainment. This year's theme is "Welcome Home."

"It's going to be a really nice atmosphere," Denanyoh said. "People from any race and any culture are welcome."

Comedian Michael Blackson and R&B singer Miriam Chemmoss will perform at the event.

There will also be an award for the best-dressed person in attendance.
