Midnight break-in suspects sought

Kent police are looking for three men suspected in a robbery that occurred around 12:30 a.m. today at 206 University Drive.

Residents told police that three men, one armed with what looked like a shotgun, and another with a baseball bat, went into the house and told them to give them their money and cell phones, according to a Kent State Police advisory FlashLine release.

No injuries were reported.

The suspects were described as: a white male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 190 to 210 pounds and wearing a gray hoodie; a white male, 6 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 200 to 230 pounds and wearing a gray hoodie; a black male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 170 to 190 pounds with corn-row hair with blond tips.

A handgun, cash and a cell phone were reported stolen, according to the police incident report.

Lt. Jayme Cole of Kent police said he could not comment on the specifics of the case because it is under investigation, but said this type of robbery is not a common occurrence in Kent.
