KASA celebrates African heritage
Last night, students and faculty packed the Student Center Ballroom to see African culture with their own eyes. After the dancing, female models of all backgrounds and skin tones worked the runway and fashioned brocades from Guinea, Senegal. Other women wore urbas and ashoks, and the men modeled dashikis.

Some call it the mini-marathon. But 13.1 miles sounds like anything but mini. This weekend, sports reporters Pam Crimbchin, Chris Gates and Josh Johnston will find out exactly what it's like to run a half-marathon. While Pam heads south to compete in the Columbus Marathon tomorrow morning, Chris and Josh will go east on I-76 for Sunday's Pittsburgh Marathon. (1) comment

The most important thing I have learned in my five years at Kent State is that life is not easy. Classes can be hard, teachers can be difficult and sometimes there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done. With that, though, I have learned that it is all worth it, especially once you start working toward something you love. (1) comment

The Robin Hood is hosting its first annual Hoodstock music festival Saturday. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the first band kicking off at 5 p.m. and the last act going well into the morning hours after the bar closes. Tickets are $5 for individuals 21 and over, and $7 for others. (0) comments
