Caroline Arnold talked about life in a United States Senate office at last night's Kent Political Union meeting in the Student Center. Arnold began working for former U.S. Sen. Inauguration was Monday and the passing of the gavel is today, but for members of the 2007-2008 Undergraduate Student Senate, work is already underway. According to a press release, the first Honors dean candidate, Richard Aquila, will be visiting campus today to meet with faculty, staff and students. Honors students have the opportunity to meet Aquila from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in Room 55 of Stopher Hall. Aquila is currently the director of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Penn State University and has written several books on different topics from rock 'n' roll to the Old West. The legacy of Nikki Kukwa lives on within the aeronautics program at Kent State. Kukwa, who died from leukemia in 2006, was a senior aeronautics major at Kent State. She had recently completed her private pilot license in 2003 and the instrument ratings license in 2004. (0) comments
An exhibition of the works of fashion designer Charles James is coming to the Kent State University Fashion Museum. James's works will be showcased at the museum beginning May 31. The exhibit will feature 11 evening gowns from the designer. Museum curator Anne Bissonnette said a gown by James can be worth $25,000 or more. (0) comments
