TMNT's prospective viewers will be that of two very different generations: Twenty-somethings who have far surpassed their Donatello action figure days, and the much younger age group that enjoys the 2003's revived version of the turtles' cartoons on the Fox Network Saturday mornings. (0) comments
With the release of TMNT Friday, a new generation of viewers and fans will be exposed to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' world that began in 1984. According to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Web site, the comic book started from a loopy idea between creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman when they drew turtles with cloth over their eyes and weapons in hand. Rhonda Byrne's controversial book, The Secret, has a powerful message that centers solely on the law of attraction. Much of the book is teaching readers what the law of attraction is and how much it affects people every day. The law is simply "like attracts like" and therefore, positive thoughts cause positive actions and negative thoughts cause negative actions. (2) comments
Forty-three years ago, four British boys created quite the ruckus on this side of the Atlantic. With their debut, Costello Music, The Fratellis may just be the new and improved comeback everyone has been waiting for. They are the ultimate indie-pop package. (1) comment

Watching a David Lynch film is not your normal trip to the movies. It requires patience and effort, but the rewards are always disturbing, beautiful and give a sense of accomplishment. Now Lynch presents Inland Empire, his most ambitious endeavor into "intuitive cinema" yet. (0) comments
"Battlestar: Galactica" Sci Fi Channel, Sundays at 10 p.m. This is for all the geeks out there. Yes, I've been watching "BsG" sporadically since its inception three seasons and one miniseries ago. I used to love the show and all it could accomplish in any given episode, but recently it's moved from multiple-episode arcs with major cliffhangers to self-contained episodes, and in the process has lost much of its appeal for me. As recent comedies have proven that only goofy comedies with absurd premises sell such as Norbit (Eddie Murphy in a fat suit!), Wild Hogs (Aged actors riding motorcycles!) and Epic Movie (Another spoof!), it's no wonder why actors such as Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler are moving more towards dramas. Trains crash. People move halfway around the world. Babies are born. Marriages end. And then there's death, love, regret, joy, sorrow and happiness. The screen adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's bestseller, The Namesake tells the story of one man's life in a little more than two hours. (0) comments
Shh … don't tell anyone, but Dead Silence isn't half bad. It begins with a ventriloquist dummy (damn those things are creepy) arriving at the home of two newlyweds. Needless to say, this is a horror movie, and one of the newlyweds ends up very dead. Extremely dead, actually, and her husband is the prime suspect. (0) comments
New York emo band Brand New is known for writing very personal songs about death, loss and heartbreak. But, unlike some emo bands just cashing on the trend, they truly meant the words they were saying at an apparently emotional concert at the House of Blues in Cleveland on Sunday. (0) comments
