Threadless' unique designs string along the college crowd

While walking on campus, one might notice other college-aged people wearing the usual shirts displaying their favorite band, Greek letters, witty sayings or a banana showing a crying watermelon he cannot reproduce. If the last one seems out of place, it's probably because it's a Threadless shirt. (2) comments

Stunning visuals lead the charge in '300'

Nearly two years after Sin City's theatrical release, Frank Miller's latest blood-soaked, testosterone-filled, comic-geek wet dream is finally upon us, and like the novel it's based on, 300 is truly a graphic delight. And how could Zack Snyder, director of 2004's Dawn of the Dead, resist another adaptation with so much gory potential? Set in 480 BC Greece, the 300 graphic novel was Miller's interpretation of the Battle of Thermopylae, an ill-fated but impressive conflict when thousands of Persians suffered massive loss at the hands of a mere 300 Spartan soldiers. 'Girls' beat out 'Wives'

"Gilmore Girls" The CW, Tuesdays at 8 Lane had her babies! We don't get to see what the babies look like; we don't get to see Lane in labor; we don't see her have any mood swings. But we're supposed to know she had her babies because Zack, who was going into a nervous breakdown hours before, had the forethought to e-mail a photo to Lane's cell phone? I don't bloody think so! Where are my hours of labor!? What a missed opportunity! It was an upsetting capper to an otherwise stellar episode that played off of some of the best subplots from the beginning of the series. At first glance, "October Road" seems to be an utter waste of a fantastic cast trapped in a clichéd and unbelievably bad melodrama. And during the pilot, it is. But, busy college student, if you have the patience to stay with this melodrama until the third and fourth episode (it premiers March 15 at 10 after "Grey's Anatomy"), chances are you may find yourself hooked. A brand new Bright Eyes

Bright Eyes' latest EP builds anticipation for the future

It drips with nostalgia. The last few moments before a train rolls to a stop. Putting a car into gear and turning it off. The last seconds before the sun sets in a hot sky. "Come on in my weary friend/your welcome here is endless," singer/poster emo child Conor Oberst pushes out on "Smoke Without Fire. (0) comments

It's that time of the semester again; the time that strikes fear into the hearts of freshman and senior alike: midterms. It just doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day to read all those chapters and study all that material. And procrastinators like you and me need all the help we can get when it comes to buckling down and getting things done. (0) comments
