I love the nostalgia the article invokes, though I am not one of the alumni of the class of '58. I can still imagine what campus life must have been like for them back then.

When I attended (from '90-'94) I lived in Engleman and we weren't allowed to have members of the opposite sex stay over until my last year, so that rule held firm for at least 60 years.

Like many other alumni I'm sure, I met my husband while attending, which is what makes it all the sweeter to come back and reminisce with him. I also met one of my best friends (while waiting for a bus of all things!) and we still keep in close touch to this day.

I look forward to attending the festivities this weekend and only hope things haven't changed too much!

Nice article. Man I wish campus life is still like that today:
People actually dressed nice to go to class, no sweat pants with wal-mart boots over them.

When face-to-face interactions existed; instead of people not even taking their eyes off of a cell phone/blackberry to make eye contact with someone new on campus.

When fraternities and sororitues actually meant something, instead of orangized alcoholic instutions.

When being a fake lesbian wasn't cool.

When Kent had other attractions rather than just alcohol.

And when cultural diversity just happened naturally, not shoved down everybodys throat as part of an agenda.

Man, how nice it would be.

I could almost see Richie Cunningham and the Fonz walking across campus...
