I CANT BELIEVE HOW MANY DRUGS ARE ON CAMPUS. I THINK THEY SHOULD START A DARE PROGRAM ON CAMPUS OR HAVE A PRIVATE TIP LINE TO REPORT DRUG ACTIVITY OR DEALER INFO TO THE TASK FORCE. NOTHING WILL GET DONE ABOUT DRUGS ON CAMPUS UNTIL A STUDENT DIES THEN THEY TRY TO STEP UP THE CONCERN. SAY NO TO DRUGS AND YES TO HUGS.

yeah.

There have been mutiple deaths due to drugs and the only thing people do is mourn for a few weeks n move on because something more exciting happened. Instead of just stating that, make something happen. Just a suggestion.

I don't know who is dumber, the jackasses selling H or the idiots who stick up for them when they get busted. It boggles my mind how dumb some people are. This is what some idiot said above, "this is one of my friends and i just cant believe this happend (sic)". You can't believe that someone pushing H is going to get caught by the boys in blue? To you my friend I preach abstinence because I don't want you infecting the rest of the world with your offspring.

Seriously, You have no heart. I believe myself to be a very intelligent individual and I feel deeply for James. I am very close to him, and he truly is a good person. He has made some mistakes, some very serious, but good people sometimes get caught up in bad things. I guarantee if you knew James, you would feel differently. He is one of the best friends I have ever had, and one of the most caring, loving, kind-hearted, considerate people I know. He has a good heart and I would trust him with my life (which is alot more than I can say for most people I know). I guess you would have to know the situation and those involved to see my point of view, so I understand that you ignorance to the interworkings of the situation have led you to believe and say what you have, but try just for a second to see it from a different perspective. If this was someone you cared about and loved that just happened to get involved in some heavy shit, would you just call them DUMB and walk away? And I am eminently offended that you called everyone who felt bad for this kid "DUMB"... I am not dumb. Things just seem to affect one differently when they have an emotional attachment. Please just look into your heart and try to find a way to just be kind, accepting, and tolerant of those around you without throwing around hurtful words and calling everyone dumb.

He has been in trouble several times with the law and this may be what this kid needs to turn his life around while there is still a chance. To those that say he wasnt using he was just selling you are stupid. He WAS using and he probably needed to sell to support his habit. Hopefully he can get clean and get his act together before he ends up in prison for a REALLY long time or dead.

well, i know james probably begtter than anyone who has even posted anything about this situation... and actually were not in denial...... he'll be fine.. i know he will... and he was in it for the thrill knowing james...... so dude, you MIGHT want to get to know someone before you state things..... im sure he will get clean, this is big charges and he put mel in risk as well.... and shes an extremely good girl.

So he is a good kid yet he is selling drugs for a THRILL. Sounds great. And you are gonna sit here and say he wasnt using? Are you crazy? Didnt everyone say the samething about him being fine last time he got out of jail for selling? And these are the same charges he faced before, he just wont be able to get them reduced this time. And as far as Mel I dont know her but she needs to not enable James to do the things he does, she got herself in a bad situation. I never said I didnt want him to get better, he needs to before he end up beings bubbas best friend or in a grave. So maybe you should get off your high horse and stop sticking up for him and be hard on him and tell him what he needs to hear. GET CLEAN OR ELSE!

well... yea he needs to get clean, got it... but you dont know him well enough to even know if he was using or how much he was using, i kno a bunch of ppl who have sold pot and didnt smoke?? and i know a lot of people who are a lot WORSE off than james is... obviously he wasnt a biggg time guy if he only had 200$ worth... theres a lot worse out there, and maybe they should look for the big guys because thats where the trouble is and the peer pressure to sell drugs.. he didnt get his charges reduced the last time, and maybe by chance they will give hima break, which i think would be a good thing for him, because honestly im pretty sure hes learned his lesson, i know him personally and he hates jail, granted he put himself and mel in that situation. as for mel..... as a matter of fact im pretty sure she didnt even know what he was doing for the most part. I have heard stories about her part and didnt know what was going down until it ACTUALLY went down at kent state and at that point there was nothing she could do.... because he had already set that deal up.

Whether there are or arent people worse off then James, he NEEDS HELP. And if he hated jail so much the first time why would you ever put yourself back in a situation where you will end up back there. Especially for the SAME thing. And as for Mel, she knew. From what I was told by his really good friends he used her phone and car to do deals so she is to blame as well. He needs to serve his time like he should and hopefully when he gets out he can get it together for the sake of himeself and his family.

he used her phone yes, all the time, to call everyone because he was always out of minutes, she never looked to see who he was calling and why he was calling them... typically they were his friends hed be calling anyway... i konw mel personally and i have talked to her. yes when he gets out he will need to get it together, but to track down the little guy and say its this huge bust is out of line and RIDICULOUS by the media, because quite honestly, its not like he was on kent's campus all the time, and they act like hes a big guy like i said..... they need to worry about the ppl who are going to overdose and get ppl to try this becuase from what i know...KNOW.... james was peer pressured into doiong what he did, got hooked and loved the money he was able to make... a quick dollar. thats what drug dealers are doing, making a quick dollar so they dont hvae to wait weeks for a paycheck which yes, is sick.... but a lot of people do it.... and to make a big deal out of this? 200$ worth of heroin isnt even a lot.. so... yeah

I'm really happy this is where my tax dollars are going... to fight this failing war on drugs. So, James is locked up, and ONE GRAM of dope is now off the streets. Those junkies are most likely getting their fix RIGHT NOW. with James in jail, and probably alot more than 1 grams worth of it. Seriously, THANK GOD we can ALL rest easy now that ONE GRAM less of heroin is no longer in our community. And to CRIME DOGG - James would never rat on anyone. He values his life far too much to put himself in that position. He is going to serve his time and move on. Really, think about it- rat people out, get a lesser prison sentence, and then have a dollar amount put on your head when you DO get out, or keep your mouth shut, serve your time, and keep your life. And what's REALLY messed up is that if James DID work with the drug task force to help them catch other people, the murderer who takes his life when he gets out would MOST LIKELY never be caught, because how much time are the police REALLY going to dedicate to an "FELON's" murder?? It's just a really messed up world we live in. It breaks my heart.

Yes, this is Paige, James' ex girlfriend. Heroin user??? Damaged goods??? How so?? SO... you know who I am... who are you? And "WATCHING YOU" really? kinda stalkerish... and a bit creepy... have we met? how do you know me? I know James was wrong... yes... but that doesn't mean he is a terrible person like some murderer or rapist. Yes he was on the wrong side of the law, and those of us in his life may or may not have tried to stop him before he got in too deep, but ultimately is was his decision. That doesn't mean that those who know him should just give up on him. If anything, this is when he needs us most, to help him get his shit together and turn his life around so he can make something of himself once all of this is behind him.

If you really care that much lend a helping hand or shut it! If your best friend got in trouble how would it make you feel if everyone were calling them names? Probably not very good you d-bag!
For everyone that does care about them as people... I hope they found themselves a better life. This is a terrible thing to get hooked on or caught up in. If it was that easy to get out of once sucked in they wouldn't have shows on tv to help show the world how hard it is to get out once you get in. Mel is not a drug user and James made bad decisions, it happens to everyone on different levels in life.Instead of treating them like "scumbags" let's all hope it was a lesson learned, and one more person we helped get away from this terrible disease of addiction.

To all of you supporting this leech on society:

I commend your commitment to friendship and unconditional love. But stop kidding yourselves. If dealing, possessing, or doing drugs were legal, you might have a leg to stand on... but that is not the case. Clearly, you can't look past the actual event and look at the big picture, and the forgotten effects it has on society as a whole. I, for one, refuse to even consider the fact that two lives (or more, if you consider the end user of the heroin) may be scarred due to this event. Perhaps one should consider the fact that Kent's/Ohio's/America's taxpayers get to house, feed, bathe and clothe these people and/or foot the bill for city/state/federally financed rehabilitation for these people. Did you ever think of that? I'm going to assume that the "friends" of these individuals are gainfully and legally employed, therefore, paying taxes that pay for the near future events that will control the lives of these two.

Yes, these "fine upstanding citizens" made a mistake; maybe one was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The bottom line is, the "made a bad decision" excuse doesn't negate the fact that a very serious law was broken here. Perhaps you should trade in your unconditional love for some tough love before you put too many miles on it. Clearly, these fools don't care enough about themselves to make good life choices (including putting one's self in a position to be in the wrong place at the wrong time), so why should John and Jane Q. Public develop a bleeding heart over some else's self induced misfortune? To me, a true GOOD friend would stand in front of a friend poised to make a bad decision, as opposed to standing behind them when the shit hits the fan.

First, to Rick; thank you for your service, and I apologize on behalf of the rest of America that "friend" is too ignorant to appreciate your service.

Now... "friend": First of all, take some spelling and grammar lessons. I feel like I'm reading ebonics or something written by a five year old. Second; let me quote you:

"actualy you fucking idiot, the FUCKING COPS set them up on CAMPUS so it wasnt HIS choice to make that deal there.... please stop talking until you know facts."

Based on this statement, and this statement alone, the only "fucking idiot" I see here is you. What kind of "F.I." claims that the police are at fault for undertaking a lawful and successful drug bust? How dare you blame the police for the arrest of this moron, regardless of where the arrest took place? It wasn't HIS choice? WASN'T HIS CHOICE?? It was his choice from the second he decided make dealing drugs part of his life!

The ignorance on this topic makes me sick to my stomach.

And for the person quoting the Bible; give it a rest. You're a two faced person for 1) judging your friend, no matter the context, 2) judging those who have common sense and/or oppose your view of the situation and 3) for damning those who judge via scripture, after you already judged as mentioned above. Way to pull a rebuttal out of your behind when you have nothing worthwhile to challenge the views/opinions/reality that others are offering to this discussion.
