Thanks for another sensationalized, not well reseacrhed , unbalanced, stupid article on exotic pets.
The only time I woudl worry about spitting animals is with so called Spittiggn Cobras (Naja)that have the ability to spit venom from their mouth.
Any cat trainer that brags and shows scars related to cat/animal training is not a good trainer. Good trainers do not get so many scars, they learn how to train and not get more of them after the first accident.

The Himalayas, as mentioned in the description of the picture, are located in Asia, where most species of palm civets are found (aside from the one species in Africa), not South America as mentioned in the article.
