Abstract:
After more than four years of research, a Kent State professor said he may have found a way to save more lives during tornadoes. Thomas Schmidlin, a Kent State professor for 24 years in the school of geography, said his research interests are climatology, natural hazards and severe weather.

This was interesting to me because I recently heard a Weather Service announcement on the radio during a severe storm that said to get out of your vehicle and find a low ditch. And I wondered about the safety implications of doing that as opposed to staying in your vehicle. Apparently the vehicle is a safer place, according to this research.
