I wonder how the parents of incoming freshman girls feel. I'm sure KSU didn't advertise to them that they'd have a statutory rapist on campus or that the same person would have spent two weeks in jail for the distribution of marijuana.

Somehow the KSU brochures didn't promote the fact that the 10 year-20 win basketball team recruits the local prisons.

I think that if you were to look at other programs across the country, you would find that not everyone's roster is filled with angels. A statutory rape charge does not imply force and furthermore; I would think that it is likely you would run into more than one person on a campus this large that has had relations with someone that is a year or two younger than them.

No the guy isn't an angel, but that doesn't mean that people can't change and he has demonstrated some of that before showing up at KSU. If the guy had forcibly raped someone against their will it would be different, but then again, he'd then be a felon instead of a member of our basketball squad.

I would be more concerned about the not knowing than of the presence of someone whom is a known entity. As a parent of a KSU student I that I am not able to protect my daughter from everything but have raised her with the proper tools to choose her companions wisely.
To continuely convict a person for past mistakes that they accepted and completed the punishment for is wrong. Mr. Evans has made several mistakes and seems to have made an honest attempt to learn from and move beyond his indiscretions. Thank goodness that the coaching team is able to see beyond his mistakes and help to guide him down the correct path.
