The sports page has been a blast to edit this year. With three Mid-American Conference champions, plus other strong teams all around campus, how couldn't I enjoy being the sports editor? Between going on road trips, staying late to produce a news page, watching reporters develop and even receive hate mail, it has been the greatest semester of my life.

The fall

The entire stadium was red. Hot, fiery, blazing, Iowa State red. The parking lot seemed as if it went for hundreds of miles and was covered from top to bottom with RVs, mini-vans and red painted school buses. This was not Dix Stadium, it wasn't Kent, Ohio, and those face-painted fans were not members of the Blue-Gold club.

Not knowing a single thing about sports, besides the fact that Sidney Crosby is amazing, and joining a basically all-male sports staff is pretty intimidating. However, it turned out to be one of the best experiences in my life.
